ABOUT

ABOUT

Judgement Day is a 12 minute romantic comedy, produced by passionate student filmmakers in Sheridan College's Honours Bachelor of Film and Television program.

SYNOPSIS

Jennifer is bringing her boyfriend Tim home to meet the family. Her robot boyfriend. Yeah he's a nice guy and all, but he's not even human! As the night goes on, he'll have to not simply win the family over, but also convince them that he isn't part of a robot conspiracy to destroy mankind. That's a little tricky when that's exactly what an omnicidal robot would want you to think.

THE IDEA

I've long struggled with a hypothetical question that everyone will one day have to face: if one day-- in the future-- my kid comes home dating a robot, am I going to be cool with it? Obviously I'm not, because the thing isn't even human. But isn't that the same logic people have used for years about other marginalized groups? Maybe by not trusting the robots, I'm just an old man stuck in my ways! Judgement Day is a comedic exploration of this terrible dilemma.
